  1. Complete removal of the leftover leaves and clippings from gutters and downspouts from the previous season.
  2. Complete bush and tree pruning.
  3. Do not forget to weed and feed to cut down on the weeds especially if crabgrass exists in your area.
  4. Repair cracks in walkways, driveways and windows.
  5. Replace broken outdoor lighting fixtures.
  6. Make sure to repair and paint windows, soffit, and fascia if needed.
  7. Power-wash brick walkways, walls, and sided exteriors.
  8. Don’t just cut the lawn–edge it!
  9. Now is the time to replace outdoor lighting fixtures with options that fit the architectural style–color for the period of your home or just match what you have. Take a look at a catalogue and don’t forget to match the paint with paint chips.
  10. Start shopping for your spring bulbs, hanging baskets, and containers for the garden if this is your passion.
  11. Do not forget to water early in the morning on very warm days for plants and shrubs, bulbs and flowers according to directions from the garden center or packaging for the specific type.
  12. Clean and paint all surfaces of your metal or wooden patio and deck furniture with the correct type of paint for the surface or start shopping for new.
